What We Believe

Redeemer is a Christian congregation that is part of the Wesleyan tradition that originally grew out of the Church of England in the late 1700's.

John Wesley, the main force behind the movement inside the Church of England that came to be called Methodism, was a priest in the Church of England.

His main interest in creating change inside the church was not focused on the teaching of the church, but with how people lived out their faith.

He lead a movement of people dedicated to caring for widows and orphans, visiting people in prison, healing the sick, and doing good while they were also dedicated to prayer, studying the Bible, and pursuing a godly life.

We hold to a historic understanding of the Christian faith and continue to emphasize faith and love in action.
